Submit a new article| Variable blue object with a peculiar spectrum A strongly variable object exhibiting unusual spectral properties isvery blue (U-B = -0.9 to -1.0; B-V = 0.1 + or - 0.2)and remarkablyconstant during variations in the V magnitude from 14 to 17. Spectraobtained at ESO Chile on April 25, 1974 and on April 12, 1975 show broadabsorption lines of He I. These lines are very much weaker or entirelyabsent on spectra obtained on April 24, 1974 and on April 11, 1975. Noemission lines and no hydrogen absorption lines were found in thesespectra. Comparisons are made with other types of hydrogen-deficientstars like MV Sgr and DB white dwarfs. The nature of the object stillremains uncertain.
